Preserved Sweet Corn Price in the United Arab Emirates (CIF) - 2022

The average preserved sweet corn import price stood at $1,261 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 7.2% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, preserved sweet corn import price decreased by -13.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 36%. The import price peaked at $1,455 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($3,002 per ton), while the price for China ($983 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+10.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Preserved Sweet Corn Price in the United Arab Emirates (FOB) - 2022

The average preserved sweet corn export price stood at $1,041 per ton in 2022, surging by 2.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, preserved sweet corn export price increased by +3.7% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 62% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,392 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Jordan ($1,567 per ton), while the average price for exports to Tanzania ($233 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Preserved Sweet Corn Imports in the United Arab Emirates

Preserved sweet corn imports into the United Arab Emirates fell markedly to 6.1K tons in 2022, which is down by -17.4% against 2021. In general, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +26.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 53% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 7.4K tons, and then dropped notably in the following year.

In value terms, preserved sweet corn imports fell to $7.7M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 30%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $8.7M, and then dropped in the following year.
