Pulses Price in Israel (CIF) - 2022

The average pulses import price stood at $1,189 per ton in 2022, rising by 23% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,320 per ton), while the price for Italy ($698 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Pulses Price in Israel (FOB) - 2022

The average pulses export price stood at $1,127 per ton in 2022, increasing by 1.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 115%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,443 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1,388 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($615 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Pulses Imports in Israel

Pulses imports into Israel was estimated at 39K tons in 2022, picking up by 11% on 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 15%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
