Hungary dominates in the global trade of prepared sweet corn. In 2014, Hungary exported 176 thousand tonnes of prepared sweet corn totaling 229 million USD, 4% over the previous year. Its primary trading partner was Germany, where it supplied 21% of its total sweet corn exports in value terms, accounting for 47% of Germany's total imports.

From 2007 to 2014, Hungary was a net exporter of prepared sweet corn. Over this period, exports consistently exceeded imports in value terms. In physical terms this difference was less pronounced in 2008, 2009 and 2014, but more pronounced in 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2013 when low export prices made it more notable.

France and Thailand were among the other main global suppliers of prepared sweet corn in 2014. However, the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2014 were Spain (+33% per year) and China (+26% per year).

Hungary's top 5 trading partners in 2014 were Germany, France, Poland, Belgium and Italy, with a combined 63% share of Hungary's prepared sweet corn exports. The share of Belgium increased modestly (+5 percentage points), while the share of Poland illustrated slight negative dynamics (-2 percentage points).
