Preserved Olive Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average preserved olive import price amounted to $2,142 per ton, approximately equating the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 16%. The import price peaked at $2,149 per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($3,418 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,576 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Preserved Olive Price in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2023
The average preserved olive export price stood at $3,910 per ton in June 2023, waning by -17.9% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated mild growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, preserved olive export price increased by +24.4% against March 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 45% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,764 per ton, and then contracted significantly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($9,659 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($2,195 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Olive Imports in the Czech Republic
Preserved olive imports into the Czech Republic reduced to 7.2K tons in 2022, falling by -4.5% compared with the previous year. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 13%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 7.5K tons, and then fell in the following year.
