Preserved Peas Market Size in the Czech Republic

In 2020, the Czech preserved peas market decreased by -X% to $X, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Overall, consumption showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2011 to 2020, the growth of the market remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a pronounced setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, preserved peas exports soared to $X in 2020. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed modest growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Slovakia (X tonnes) was the main destination for preserved peas exports from the Czech Republic, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, preserved peas exports to Slovakia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Bulgaria (X tonnes), fourfold. Germany (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Slovakia amounted to -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bulgaria (+X% per year) and Germany (+X% per year).

In value terms, Slovakia ($X), Spain ($X) and Bulgaria ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for preserved peas exported from the Czech Republic worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Spain (+X% per year) saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The average preserved peas export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, growing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a measured increase from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Czech Republic

In 2020, supplies from abroad of preserved peas was finally on the rise to reach X tonnes for the first time since 2017, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, total imports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tonnes in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, preserved peas imports surged to $X in 2020. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Imports by Country

Hungary (X tonnes), Germany (X tonnes) and Italy (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of preserved peas imports to the Czech Republic, with a combined X% share of total imports.
