Plywood Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023

The average plywood import price stood at $1,107 per cubic meter in June 2023, waning by -2.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 30% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,288 per cubic meter; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($1,648 per cubic meter), while the price for Germany ($537 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovenia (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Plywood Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2023

The average plywood export price stood at $1,490 per cubic meter in June 2023, jumping by 25% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 52% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,591 per cubic meter; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Kosovo ($2,180 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Italy ($953 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Plywood Imports in Croatia

Plywood imports into Croatia reduced markedly to 27K cubic meters in 2022, waning by -27.1% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 11%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at 39K cubic meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, plywood imports totaled $29M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +52.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 50%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Plywood Exports in Croatia

In 2022, approx. 3.5K cubic meters of plywood were exported from Croatia; which is down by -59.5% against the previous year's figure. In general, exports recorded a sharp downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 41%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 8.7K cubic meters, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, plywood exports dropped remarkably to $5.3M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a notable expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +18.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 75% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $7.9M, and then dropped notably in the following year.
