Plum and Sloe Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023

In September 2023, the average plum and sloe import price amounted to $956 per ton, picking up by 11% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw temperate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 60% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,010 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($1,886 per ton), while the price for Moldova ($766 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Plum and Sloe Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average plum and sloe export price amounted to $1,374 per ton, surging by 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 75% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $2,062 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($2,360 per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($814 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Plum and Sloe Imports in Lithuania

In 2022, plum and sloe imports into Lithuania dropped to 4.2K tons, which is down by -7% on the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 24%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 4.5K tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, plum and sloe imports declined rapidly to $4.1M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +22.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $5M, and then dropped notably in the following year.
