Plum and Sloe Price in Australia (FOB) - 2022

The average plum and sloe export price stood at $2,925 per ton in 2022, dropping by -5.8% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $3,105 per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($4,612 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($2,146 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+10.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Plum and Sloe Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023

The average plum and sloe import price stood at $8,356 per ton in July 2023, growing by 19% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to +0.0% per month.

Plum and Sloe Exports in Australia

In 2022, plum and sloe exports from Australia contracted sharply to 6.1K tons, which is down by -16.4% on the previous year. In general, exports saw a perceptible setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 39%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 7.3K tons, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

In value terms, plum and sloe exports shrank significantly to $18M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 60%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $23M, and then declined remarkably in the following year.

Plum and Sloe Imports in Australia
