Peach and Nectarine Price in Greece (FOB) - 2022
The average peach and nectarine export price stood at $780 per ton in 2022, dropping by -16.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a slight setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $980 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($1,183 per ton), while the average price for exports to Albania ($330 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Peach and Nectarine Price in Greece (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average peach and nectarine import price amounted to $983 per ton, waning by -51.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 78% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $3,039 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($2,361 per ton), while the price for Romania ($342 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (+2,537.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Peach and Nectarine Exports in Greece
In 2022, overseas shipments of peaches and nectarines were finally on the rise to reach 127K tons after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, saw a abrupt slump.
In value terms, peach and nectarine exports surged to $99M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a measured expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -17.7% against 2020 indices.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 86%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 4K tons, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, peach and nectarine imports contracted sharply to $4M in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 75%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $5.5M, and then contracted notably in the following year.
