Nuts Price in Serbia (CIF) - 2022

The average nuts import price stood at $4,645 per ton in 2022, waning by -12.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 45%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $7,037 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($8,991 per ton), while the price for North Macedonia ($901 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nuts Price in Serbia (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average nuts export price amounted to $3,000 per ton, waning by -24.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 186% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $7,357 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($8,583 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($1,120 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Austria (+10.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nuts Imports in Serbia

In 2022, purchases abroad of nuts decreased by -7.4% to 649 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +17.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +63.9% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 40%.

In value terms, nuts imports contracted remarkably to $3M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +53.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 39% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $3.7M, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

Nuts Exports in Serbia

After three years of growth, shipments abroad of nuts decreased by -3.4% to 612 tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 3,442% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 633 tons, and then declined modestly in the following year.

In value terms, nuts exports shrank markedly to $1.8M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 2,764% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $2.5M, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
