Nonwoven Fabric Price in Finland (CIF) - 2023

In August 2023, the average nonwoven fabric import price amounted to $4,708 per ton, with a decrease of -6.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 28% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $6,778 per ton. From February 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Luxembourg ($9,515 per ton), while the price for Italy ($2,735 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Luxembourg (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nonwoven Fabric Price in Finland (FOB) - 2022

The average nonwoven fabric export price stood at $11,192 per ton in 2022, rising by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, nonwoven fabric export price increased by +24.2% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($20,883 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($6,996 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+14.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nonwoven Fabric Imports in Finland

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of nonwoven fabrics decreased by -16.5% to 17K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 14%.

In value terms, nonwoven fabric imports dropped slightly to $93M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 22%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $96M, and then declined in the following year.
