The average motorised invalid carriage import price stood at $997 per unit in August 2023, picking up by 47% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,061 per unit in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,110 per unit), while the price for Vietnam ($530 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average motorised invalid carriage export price stood at $725 per unit in 2022, rising by 120% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight descent. The export price peaked at $1,157 per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1,497 per unit), while the average price for exports to Kenya ($35 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
