Millet Price in the UK (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average millet import price amounted to $738 per ton, falling by -2.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a perceptible descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2022 when the average import price increased by 62% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,518 per ton. From August 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($2,639 per ton), while the price for France ($585 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Millet Price in the UK (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average millet export price amounted to $2,116 per ton, which is down by -9.8% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, millet export price increased by +28.1% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 59% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,998 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($5,129 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($1,644 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malta (+10.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
