Milled Rice Price in Paraguay (FOB) - 2023

In November 2023, the average milled rice export price amounted to $629 per ton, rising by 4.4% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 when the average export price increased by 10% month-to-month. The export price peaked in November 2023.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($640 per ton), while the average price for exports to Costa Rica ($532 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Milled Rice Price in Paraguay (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average milled rice import price amounted to $807 per ton, flattening at the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 26%. The import price peaked at $940 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($795 per ton), while the price for Chile ($652 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uruguay (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Milled Rice Exports in Paraguay

In 2022, the amount of semi-milled or wholly milled (bleached) rice exported from Paraguay stood at 350K tons, with an increase of 15% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight descent.
