Cereal Germ Price in New Zealand (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average cereal germ import price amounted to $3,088 per ton, dropping by -22.8% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, cereal germ import price increased by +62.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 110% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,997 per ton, and then plummeted in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($6,980 per ton), while the price for India ($1,941 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cereal Germ Imports in New Zealand
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of cereal germ, when their volume decreased by -62.6% to 2.2 tons. In general, imports, however, showed a measured increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 120% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 6 tons, and then shrank notably in the following year.
In value terms, cereal germ imports declined rapidly to $6.9K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 361% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $24K, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
