Magnesium Price in the UK (FOB) - 2023
The average magnesium export price stood at $17,907 per ton in June 2023, dropping by -17.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 33% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $25,625 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($65,530 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($6,179 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+16.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Magnesium Price in the UK (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average magnesium import price amounted to $3,738 per ton, reducing by -2.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 416% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $27,306 per ton. From January 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
