Green Bean Price in Peru (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average green bean export price amounted to $784 per ton, flattening at the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, posted a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 33%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $833 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1,358 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($175 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average green bean import price amounted to $2,472 per ton, reducing by -4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 74%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,574 per ton in 2021, and then declined modestly in the following year.

After three years of growth, shipments abroad of green beans decreased by -3.8% to 669 tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 14%.
In value terms, green bean exports declined slightly to $525K in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 11% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $552K, and then declined modestly in the following year.

Green Bean Imports in Peru
In 2022, overseas purchases of green beans decreased by -40.3% to 4.2 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 413%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 7.1 tons, and then declined notably in the following year.
