Green Bean Price in Australia (FOB) - 2023

The average green bean export price stood at $3,307 per ton in July 2023, reducing by -8.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 37% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $7,642 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for New Zealand.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for New Zealand amounted to -6.8% per month.

In 2022, the average green bean import price amounted to $1,397 per ton, growing by 20% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,522 per ton), while the price for Myanmar ($1,268 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
