Grape Price in Serbia (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average grape import price amounted to $763 per ton, declining by -3.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 26% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $794 per ton in 2021, and then contracted slightly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,531 per ton), while the price for North Macedonia ($604 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Grape Price in Serbia (FOB) - 2022

The average grape export price stood at $587 per ton in 2022, reducing by -28.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 26%. The export price peaked at $825 per ton in 2021, and then declined sharply in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($1,348 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($344 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+49.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Grape Imports in Serbia

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of grapes decreased by -6.5% to 13K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 21% against the previous year.

In value terms, grape imports shrank to $9.8M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +8.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 36% against the previous year.

Grape Exports in Serbia

In 2022, overseas shipments of grapes increased by 24% to 470 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, faced a precipitous decrease.

In value terms, grape exports shrank to $276K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a dramatic shrinkage.
