Glass Fibre Mat Price in Ghana (CIF) - 2022
The average glass fibre mat import price stood at $1,446 per ton in 2022, dropping by -3.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a mild contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 41%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,075 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($11,903 per ton), while the price for France ($499 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+53.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Glass Fibre Mat Price in Ghana (FOB) - 2022
The average glass fibre mat export price stood at $1,436 per ton in 2022, growing by 5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, faced a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 19% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,172 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Angola.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Angola amounted to -12.1% per year.
Glass Fibre Mat Imports in Ghana
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of glass fibre mats, when their volume decreased by -12.4% to 55 tons. Over the period under review, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +39.4% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 32%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 63 tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, glass fibre mat imports dropped rapidly to $80K in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 45% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $95K, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

Glass Fibre Mat Exports in Ghana
In 2022, shipments abroad of glass fibre mats decreased by -7.2% to 1.3 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 17% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 1.4 tons, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, glass fibre mat exports declined modestly to $1.9K in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years.
