Fibreboard Price in Finland (CIF) - 2022
The average fibreboard import price stood at $650 per cubic meter in 2022, with an increase of 6.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 19%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $711 per cubic meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($873 per cubic meter), while the price for Russia ($355 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+89.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fibreboard Price in Finland (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average fibreboard export price amounted to $725 per cubic meter, surging by 12% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fibreboard export price increased by +77.9% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 32%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Estonia ($1,127 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($371 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Estonia (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fibreboard Imports in Finland
In 2022, overseas purchases of fibreboard decreased by -2.7% to 112K cubic meters for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 24%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
