Fiberboard Price in Colombia (CIF) - 2022
In February 2022, the average fiberboard import price amounted to $134 per cubic meter, with an increase of 2.9% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a measured increase from February 2021 to February 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on February 2022 figures, fiberboard import price increased by +2.9% against January 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2021 when the average import price increased by 127% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $150 per cubic meter in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to February 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($201 per cubic meter), while the price for Brazil ($99.2 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fiberboard Price in Colombia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average fiberboard export price amounted to $175 per cubic meter, declining by -4.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 62%. The export price peaked at $183 per cubic meter in 2021, and then contracted slightly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Guatemala ($1,222 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Haiti ($19 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Guatemala (+29.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fiberboard Imports in Colombia
In 2022, the amount of fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials imported into Colombia declined to 600K cubic meters, with a decrease of -1.7% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports showed a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 2.5% against the previous year. Imports peaked at 715K cubic meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, fiberboard imports dropped to $56M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 37%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $65M, and then shrank in the following year.

Fiberboard Exports in Colombia
In 2022, the amount of fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials exported from Colombia reduced to 3.8K cubic meters, which is down by -14.1% on 2021. Overall, exports showed a precipitous slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year.
