Dry Peas Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2023
In September 2023, the average dry peas export price amounted to $560 per ton, surging by 73% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a modest increase from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, dry peas export price increased by +72.7% against August 2023 indices. The export price peaked at $676 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Spain ($915 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($386 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average dry peas import price amounted to $580 per ton, with an increase of 44% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($890 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($352 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+34.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third consecutive year, Lithuania recorded decline in shipments abroad of peas (dry), which decreased by -18.1% to 79K tons in 2022. Overall, exports faced a dramatic contraction. The smallest decline of -14.6% was in 2020.
In value terms, dry peas exports rose to $34M in 2022. In general, exports saw a deep setback.

Dry Peas Imports in Lithuania
In 2022, supplies from abroad of peas (dry) decreased by -32.9% to 6.7K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 206% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 11K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, dry peas imports contracted to $3.9M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 185%.
