Crude Soybean Oil Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023
The average crude soybean oil import price stood at $1,150 per ton in August 2023, dropping by -4.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 17% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,575 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Hungary ($1,211 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($804 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Crude Soybean Oil Price in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average crude soybean oil export price amounted to $1,515 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 83% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,520 per ton, leveling off in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Poland ($1,741 per ton) and Estonia ($1,597 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($1,175 per ton) and Bulgaria ($1,491 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (-0.1%).
Crude Soybean Oil Imports in the Czech Republic
In 2022, the amount of crude soybean oil imported into the Czech Republic reduced sharply to 12K tons, declining by -18% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports showed a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 18%.
In value terms, crude soybean oil imports reduced to $19M in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase.
