Coconut Price in Italy (CIF) - 2023
The average coconut import price stood at $1,102 per ton in June 2023, rising by 20% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated pronounced growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, coconut import price decreased by -6.4% against April 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 90% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,619 per ton. From November 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($8,003 per ton), while the price for Cote d'Ivoire ($779 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+35.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coconut Price in Italy (FOB) - 2022
The average coconut export price stood at $3,198 per ton in 2022, reducing by -7.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 87%. The export price peaked at $3,793 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($10,842 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($790 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+15.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coconut Imports in Italy
In 2022, coconut imports into Italy declined to 5.5K tons, waning by -8.9% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 7.2% against the previous year.
