Coconut Oil Price in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023
The average coconut oil import price stood at $1,744 per ton in July 2023, with a decrease of -2.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 32% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $2,766 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Sweden ($2,071 per ton) and the Netherlands ($1,953 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($1,430 per ton) and Indonesia ($1,506 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Coconut Oil Price in Ukraine (FOB) - 2022
The average coconut oil export price stood at $2,628 per ton in 2022, rising by 23% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 47% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $2,981 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Armenia ($15,249 per ton), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($2,262 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Armenia (+26.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coconut Oil Imports in Ukraine
In 2022, purchases abroad of coconut (copra) oil decreased by -49.3% to 5.3K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 18%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 11K tons, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
In value terms, coconut oil imports reduced notably to $13M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +28.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 69% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $18M, and then declined remarkably in the following year.

Coconut Oil Exports in Ukraine
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of coconut (copra) oil, when their volume decreased by -74.3% to 111 tons. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 725% against the previous year.
In value terms, coconut oil exports shrank markedly to $293K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 477%.
