Camping Trailer Price in Malaysia (CIF) - 2022

The average camping trailer import price stood at $12,049 per unit in 2022, jumping by 17% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a perceptible increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 376% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $15,015 per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($29,407 per unit), while the price for Brunei Darussalam ($3,015 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+21.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Camping Trailer Price in Malaysia (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average camping trailer export price amounted to $15,182 per unit, jumping by 62% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 180% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $15,454 per unit. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($54,667 per unit), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($9 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Suriname (+43.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Camping Trailer Imports in Malaysia

In 2022, overseas purchases of trailers and semi-trailers of the caravan type, for housing or camping decreased by -35.4% to 31 units, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 148% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 52 units. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, camping trailer imports dropped sharply to $374K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 96% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $494K, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

Camping Trailer Exports in Malaysia

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of trailers and semi-trailers of the caravan type, for housing or camping, when their volume decreased by -18.2% to 9 units. Over the period under review, exports saw a dramatic descent. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at 22 units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, camping trailer exports surged to $137K in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a measured increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -19.6% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $170K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
