The average broken rice import price stood at $392 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -9.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 3.3%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $589 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Uruguay ($1,210 per ton), while the price for China ($145 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Uruguay (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average broken rice export price stood at $116 per ton in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a abrupt shrinkage.
