Book and Brochure Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average book and brochure import price amounted to $2.9 per unit, with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, book and brochure import price increased by +79.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 49%. The import price peaked at $3.2 per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($8.3 per unit), while the price for Egypt ($0.8 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average book and brochure export price amounted to $2 per unit, rising by 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a buoyant expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bangladesh ($3 per unit), while the average price for exports to Lebanon ($0.3 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Jordan (+13.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 14M units of books, brochures and similar printed matter were imported into Indonesia; dropping by -12% on 2021 figures. Overall, imports continue to indicate a precipitous curtailment. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at 29M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, book and brochure imports rose markedly to $39M in 2022. In general, imports saw a abrupt downturn. Imports peaked at $61M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
