Commercial Printing Price in Mexico (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average commercial printing import price amounted to $7,998 per ton, declining by -10.6% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated notable growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, commercial printing import price increased by +1.5% against February 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 122% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $9,812 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($13,947 per ton), while the price for China ($6,055 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 162% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $5,896 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to -5.8% per month.

In 2022, approx. 125K tons of commercial printing (except screen and books) were imported into Mexico; jumping by 18% against the previous year's figure.
