Acyclic Acid Imports By Country

In 2016, Belgium (1.9M tonnes), followed by India (1.2M tonnes), Germany (1M tonnes), the Netherlands (711K tonnes), and China (553K tonnes) were the key importers of acyclic acid, together generating 48% of total imports. The following importers - Mexico (506K tonnes), Italy (462K tonnes), South Korea (359K tonnes), Japan (353K tonnes), Spain (328K tonnes), Thailand (307K tonnes), and Indonesia (296K tonnes) together made up 23% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of acyclic acid imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by India (+18.2% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Belgium ($1.3B), Germany ($893M) and India ($881M) appeared as the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, together comprising 27% of global imports.

India (+11.8% per year) experienced the highest growth rate of acyclic acid imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Acyclic Acid Import Prices By Country

The average acyclic acid import price stood at $1,002 per tonne in 2016, waning by -6.9% against the previous year. In general, acyclic acid import price continues to indicate a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, when import increased by 16% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, average acyclic acid import price attained its maximum level of $1,327 per tonne in 2008- however, from 2009 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was Spain ($1,098 per tonne), while Belgium ($672 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of acyclic acid import prices was attained by China (+1.5% per year), while the other global leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
