Production By Country
The country with the largest volume of fluorspar production was China (X tons), comprising approx. X% of total volume. Moreover, fluorspar production in China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Mexico (X tons), fivefold. Mongolia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total production with an X% share.
In China, fluorspar production expanded at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: Mexico (-X% per year) and Mongolia (+X% per year).

After three years of growth, shipments abroad of fluorspar decreased by -X% to X tons in 2021. In general, exports recorded a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The global exports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, fluorspar exports fell rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The global exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Mongolia was the major exporting country with an export of around X tons, which amounted to X% of total exports. Mexico (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by China (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons) and South Africa (X tons). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total exports. Pakistan (X tons), Morocco (X tons), the United States (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons) and Germany (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to fluorspar exports from Mongolia stood at +X%. At the same time, the Netherlands (+X%), Pakistan (+X%), Hong Kong SAR (+X%), Italy (+X%) and the United States (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Germany (-X%), Morocco (-X%), China (-X%), South Africa (-X%) and Mexico (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Mongolia (+X p.p.), the Netherlands (+X p.p.), Italy (+X p.p.), Pakistan (+X p.p.), the United States (+X p.p.) and Hong Kong SAR (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of South Africa (-X p.p.), China (-X p.p.) and Mexico (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest fluorspar supplying countries worldwide were Mongolia ($X), Mexico ($X) and China ($X), together accounting for X% of global exports. The Netherlands, Morocco, South Africa, Germany, Pakistan, Hong Kong SAR, the United States and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X Kong SAR, with a CAGR of +X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average fluorspar export price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of X% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+X%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, purchases abroad of fluorspar increased by X% to X tons, rising for the fifth consecutive year after four years of decline. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Global imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, fluorspar imports reached $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X%.
