As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the global exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, complex fluorine salts exports surged to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
China was the main exporter of fluorides, fluorosilicates, fluoroaluminates and other complex fluorine salts in the world, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was near 39% of total exports in 2021. Tunisia (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Canada (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 14% share of total exports. Lithuania (X tons), Belgium (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Germany (X tons), Japan (X tons), Norway (X tons), Russia (X tons), Belarus (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from China decreased at an average annual rate of -1.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, South Korea (+14.9%), Russia (+11.5%), Norway (+8.3%), Belarus (+4.1%), Belgium (+1.9%), Tunisia (+1.3%) and the Netherlands (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, South Korea emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +14.9% from 2012-2021. Germany and Lithuania experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Japan (-2.9%), Canada (-2.9%) and the United Arab Emirates (-7.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Tunisia (+2.4 p.p.), Norway (+1.7 p.p.), South Korea (+1.6 p.p.) and Russia (+1.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest complex fluorine salts supplier worldwide, comprising 38% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Korea ($X), with a 15% share of global exports. It was followed by Japan, with a 9.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China amounted to +6.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: South Korea (+24.7% per year) and Japan (+1.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average complex fluorine salts export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, complex fluorine salts export price increased by +99.5% against 2014 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per ton), while Norway ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Global complex fluorine salts imports soared to X tons in 2021, increasing by 66% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 69% against the previous year. Global imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, complex fluorine salts imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, global imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Mozambique dominates imports structure, reaching X tons, which was near 53% of total imports in 2021. The United States (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by India (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 11% share of total imports. The following importers - Russia (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Canada (X tons), Brazil (X tons), South Korea (X tons) and Australia (X tons) - together made up 14% of total imports.
Mozambique was also the fastest-growing in terms of the fluorides, fluorosilicates, fluoroaluminates and other complex fluorine salts imports, with a CAGR of +245.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Australia (+25.8%), Malaysia (+17.4%), Russia (+10.6%), India (+7.3%), South Korea (+4.7%), Canada (+4.2%) and the United States (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Brazil (-7.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Mozambique (+53 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while the United States and Brazil saw its share reduced by -5.1% and -6.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mozambique ($X), South Korea ($X) and the United States ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 38% share of global imports.
In terms of the main importing countries, Mozambique, with a CAGR of +164.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average complex fluorine salts import price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a mild decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 52% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then contracted notably in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per ton), while Mozambique ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
