The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +75.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 80% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, exports of road-sweepers, mobile workshops and other special purpose vehicles declined to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 72% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.

Cote d'Ivoire represented the key exporting country with an export of about X units, which resulted at 51% of total exports. Benin (X units) held a 22% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Mali (9.5%) and Niger (5%). Senegal (X units), Mauritania (X units) and Burkina Faso (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Cote d'Ivoire was also the fastest-growing in terms of the road-sweepers, mobile workshops and other special purpose vehicles exports, with a CAGR of +26.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Benin (+13.0%), Mauritania (+9.1%) and Mali (+3.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Senegal (-2.0%), Niger (-6.8%) and Burkina Faso (-11.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Cote d'Ivoire (+44 p.p.), Benin (+13 p.p.), Mauritania (+2.2 p.p.) and Mali (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Burkina Faso and Niger saw its share reduced by -5.7% and -6.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Cote d'Ivoire ($X) remains the largest road-sweepers, mobile workshops and other special purpose vehicles supplier in Western Africa, comprising 67% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mali ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Niger, with a 5.2% share.

In Cote d'Ivoire, exports of road-sweepers, mobile workshops and other special purpose vehicles expanded at an average annual rate of +29.1% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mali (+8.2% per year) and Niger (-5.6% per year).
