Exports by Country
China (X tons) was the main destination for wrapping papers exports from Vietnam, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, wrapping papers exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Cambodia (X tons), threefold. Indonesia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to China totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Cambodia (+X% per year) and Indonesia (+X% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for wrapping papers exports from Vietnam, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Cambodia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Indonesia, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to China stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Cambodia (+X% per year) and Indonesia (+X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average wrapping papers export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, stabilizing at the previous year. In general, the export price saw a slight downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of wrapping paper, packaging paper and paperboard decreased by -X% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while the price for Japan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
