Over the period under review, exports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, stainless steel angle exports declined notably to $X in 2020. In general, exports recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The U.S. (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes) and Brazil (X tonnes) were the main destinations of stainless steel angle exports from the UK, together accounting for X% of total exports. China, Canada, Ireland and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by China, while exports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, the U.S. ($X), Italy ($X) and China ($X) were the largest markets for stainless steel angle exported from the UK worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, China recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

The average stainless steel angle export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, rising by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, stainless steel angle imports contracted notably to $X in 2020. In general, imports showed a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

Spain (X tonnes), Sweden (X tonnes) and Germany (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of stainless steel angle imports to the UK, with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Turkey, Belgium, China and Italy, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Turkey, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Spain ($X) constituted the largest stainless steel angle suppliers to the UK, with a combined X% share of total imports. Belgium, Italy, China, Sweden and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X terms of the main suppliers, Belgium recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, the average stainless steel angle import price amounted to $X per tonne, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the last thirteen years, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per tonne), while the price for Sweden ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
