Finland (X tons) was the main destination for polyethylene glycol wax exports from Sweden, accounting for a 55% share of total exports. Moreover, polyethylene glycol wax exports to Finland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Denmark (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Norway (X tons), with a 9.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Finland amounted to -5.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Denmark (-2.1% per year) and Norway (-39.5% per year).

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 58% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, polyethylene glycol wax imports amounted to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, faced a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 47%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) was the main supplier of polyethylene glycol wax to Sweden, accounting for a 91% share of total imports. Moreover, polyethylene glycol wax imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Mexico (X tons), more than tenfold.
