By contrast, Nepal (-10.8%), Afghanistan (-28.8%) and Pakistan (-31.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Bangladesh (+40 p.p.), India (+18 p.p.) and Sri Lanka (+10 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Afghanistan (-28.5 p.p.) and Pakistan (-39.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Bangladesh ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported road-sweepers, mobile workshops and other special purpose vehicles in Southern Asia, comprising 56% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Sri Lanka, with an 8.2% share.

In Bangladesh, imports of road-sweepers, mobile workshops and other special purpose vehicles increased at an average annual rate of +18.9% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: India (+6.1% per year) and Sri Lanka (+3.3% per year).
