In value terms, loudspeaker production contracted rapidly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production continues to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the production volume increased by 562% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

In 2021, overseas shipments of single loudspeakers (in enclosure) decreased by -46.5% to X units for the first time since 2014, thus ending a six-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 149%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, loudspeaker exports reduced markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 83%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then fell sharply in the following year.

Vietnam dominates exports structure, finishing at X units, which was approx. 92% of total exports in 2021. The following exporters - Malaysia (X units) and Singapore (X units) - each finished at a 4.5% share of total exports.

Vietnam was also the fastest-growing in terms of the single loudspeakers (in enclosure) exports, with a CAGR of +80.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Malaysia (+13.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Singapore (-3.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Vietnam increased by +86 percentage points.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X) remains the largest loudspeaker supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 12% share of total exports.

In Vietnam, loudspeaker exports expanded at an average annual rate of +88.4% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Singapore (+5.0% per year) and Malaysia (+2.3% per year).

In 2021, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per unit, rising by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a deep contraction. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while Vietnam ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of single loudspeakers (in enclosure) was finally on the rise to reach X units after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, loudspeaker imports dropped to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +68.7% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2020, and then fell in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Vietnam (X units), distantly followed by Indonesia (X units), Thailand (X units) and Malaysia (X units) represented the largest importers of single loudspeakers (in enclosure), together achieving 94% of total imports. The following importers - the Philippines (X units) and Singapore (X units) - each recorded a 3.9% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Philippines (with a CAGR of +20.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest loudspeaker importing markets in South-Eastern Asia were Malaysia ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Thailand ($X), together accounting for 68% of total imports. These countries were followed by Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia, which together accounted for a further 27%.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the import price increased by 47%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2020, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
