Loudspeaker Exports

Exports in the EU

Loudspeaker exports skyrocketed to X units in 2021, picking up by 58% against 2020. In general, exports saw significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 91% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, loudspeaker exports rose sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, exports enjoyed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 52%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Exports by Country

The biggest shipments were from Germany (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Belgium (X units), together reaching 68% of total export. It was distantly followed by Poland (X units) and France (X units), together creating a 15% share of total exports. The following exporters - Spain (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) - each recorded a 6.1% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +44.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Belgium ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 61% of total exports. France, Poland, the Czech Republic and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Poland, with a CAGR of +36.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -33.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (-2.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in the EU

In 2021, supplies from abroad of single loudspeakers (in enclosure) increased by 18% to X units, rising for the fifth consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports enjoyed a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 115%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, loudspeaker imports totaled $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +81.9% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Germany was the key importer of single loudspeakers (in enclosure) in the European Union, with the volume of imports finishing at X units, which was near 37% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by France (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Hungary (X units), Belgium (X units), Spain (X units) and Slovakia (X units), together achieving a 44% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to loudspeaker imports into Germany stood at -2.9%. At the same time, the Netherlands (+32.5%), Spain (+25.3%), Slovakia (+22.4%), Belgium (+16.6%), France (+11.5%) and Hungary (+8.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +32.5% from 2012-2021. While the share of the Netherlands (+7.7 p.p.), Belgium (+4.4 p.p.), France (+4.1 p.p.), Spain (+4.1 p.p.), Slovakia (+3.5 p.p.) and Hungary (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Germany (-37.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +14.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -11.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, posted perceptible growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the import price increased by 115% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
