In 2023, flat hot-rolled steel coils exports in South-Eastern Asia declined modestly to X tons, standing approx. at the year before. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, flat hot-rolled steel coils exports dropped to $X in 2023. In general, exports, however, posted a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2023, Vietnam (X tons) was the main exporter of flat hot-rolled steel in coils, committing X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Indonesia (X tons), comprising an X% share of total exports. Singapore (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

Vietnam was also the fastest-growing in terms of the flat hot-rolled steel in coils exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Indonesia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Singapore (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Vietnam and Indonesia increased by X and X percentage points, respectively.

From 2022 to 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2023, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Indonesia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2023, dropping by X% against the previous year. Import price indicated mild growth from 2012 to 2023: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, flat hot-rolled steel coils import price increased by X% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of X%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2022, and then contracted in the following year.
