Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

South Africa represented the largest importing country with an import of about X tons, which accounted for X% of total imports. Madagascar (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Angola (X%), Zambia (X%) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (X%).
