After two years of decline, overseas purchases of nutmeg, mace and cardamoms decreased by -X% to X tonnes in 2020. In general, imports recorded a dramatic decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tonnes in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, nutmeg, mace and cardamom imports contracted markedly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports showed a dramatic contraction. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2020, Guatemala (X tonnes) constituted the largest nutmeg, mace and cardamom supplier to Qatar, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, nutmeg, mace and cardamom imports from Guatemala exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tonnes), threefold.
