The Netherlands (X tons) was the main destination for oils from coal tar exports from Poland, accounting for a 55% share of total exports. Moreover, oils from coal tar exports to the Netherlands exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belgium (X tons), threefold. Denmark (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the Netherlands stood at +185.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belgium (+28.6% per year) and Denmark (+55.3% per year).
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the key foreign market for oils and other products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar exports from Poland, comprising 48% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with an 18% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 7.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the Netherlands totaled +158.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belgium (+16.7% per year) and Germany (+8.1% per year).

Imports into Poland
After two years of decline, purchases abroad of oils and other products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar increased by 36% to X tons in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -5.5% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 50%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Lithuania (with a CAGR of +139.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Lithuania ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Germany ($X) appeared to be the largest oils from coal tar suppliers to Poland, together comprising 60% of total imports.
Lithuania, with a CAGR of +150.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average oils from coal tar import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 40% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while the price for Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Finland (+71.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
