In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in the MENA's styrene market, when its value increased by 57% to $X. Saudi Arabia was the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which recorded 68% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Kuwait (X tons), making up a 25% share of total exports. The following exporters - Iran (X tons) and Oman (X tons) - together made up 5.6% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to styrene exports from Saudi Arabia stood at -1.4%. At the same time, Oman (+23.4%) and Kuwait (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of +23.4% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Iran (-14.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In Saudi Arabia, styrene exports decreased by an average annual rate of -2.5% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Kuwait (-0.5% per year) and Iran (-21.1% per year).
