The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Kuwait (X cubic meters) represented the main exporter of argon, committing X% of total exports. Saudi Arabia (X cubic meters) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the United Arab Emirates (X%) and Turkey (X%). Bahrain (X cubic meters), Jordan (X cubic meters) and Egypt (X cubic meters) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Kuwait was also the fastest-growing in terms of the argon exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Bahrain (X%), Jordan (X%), Saudi Arabia (X%), the United Arab Emirates (X%) and Turkey (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Egypt experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Kuwait (X p.p.), Saudi Arabia (X p.p.), Bahrain (X p.p.) and Jordan (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Egypt (X p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (X p.p.) and Turkey (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Kuwait ($X) remains the largest argon supplier in MENA, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Kuwait amounted to X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Turkey (X% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (X% per year).

The export price in MENA stood at $X per cubic meter in 2022, with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a perceptible contraction. The level of export peaked at $X per cubic meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per cubic meter), while Saudi Arabia ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

Total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X cubic meters in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
