In 2021, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in the Italian preserved asparagus market, when its value decreased by -5.6% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, approx. X tons of preserved asparagus were imported into Italy; which is down by -10.9% against the year before. In general, imports saw a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons.
