In 2020, the Italian canned pineapple market was finally on the rise to reach $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a two-year declining trend. France (X tonnes), Spain (X tonnes) and Slovenia (X tonnes) were the main destinations of canned pineapple exports from Italy, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Israel, Malta, Romania and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in the Netherlands, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, France ($X), Spain ($X) and Slovenia ($X) were the largest markets for canned pineapple exported from Italy worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports. Israel, Malta, the Netherlands and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X terms of the main countries of destination, the Netherlands recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malta, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, supplies from abroad of canned pineapples decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tonnes. from 2009 to 2020, the growth imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, canned pineapple imports surged to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a noticeable decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
