In general, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +133.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 61% against the previous year. Canned Pineapple Imports

In 2022, overseas purchases of canned pineapples increased by 10% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after five years of decline. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, canned pineapple imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 30% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Thailand (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) were the main suppliers of canned pineapple imports to the United States, with a combined 94% share of total imports. Peru, Vietnam and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 4.7%.
