The average silicone export price stood at $X per tonne in 2018, falling by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the silicone export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, silicone imports attained their maximum at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, silicone imports amounted to $X in 2018. Overall, silicone imports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, silicone imports attained their maximum at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2018, the U.S. (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of silicone to Ireland, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, silicone imports from the U.S. exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the UK (X tonnes), fivefold. Germany (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
